12 Hammersmith Grove, London
Sector: Commercial, New Build Construction
Number 12 Hammersmith Grove is a new build property comprising eight floors of spectacular office space with new restaurant units and stunning public terraces and garden spaces – and now has solar PV boosting its renewables portfolio.
The Requirement:
This Grade A building was created to have a BREEAM Excellent rating by the client Development Securities in partnership with Wates the main contractor and the M&E contractor, Imtech. The solar photovoltaic aspect of the construction was to be the final touch to this high-profile regeneration project which includes an impressive number of energy efficient features.
The Solution:
With Ablaze MyriadSolar’s strong history of commercial and construction supply chain solar PV solutions in the centre of London, as well as numerous public sector installations, and dozens of previous projects completed with Wates, the company showed itself to be experienced, professional and sound to the client.
The solar PV solution designed by Myriad Solar consists of 300 panels mounted on aluminium flat roof brackets bolted to steel grating on top of the plant room steel structure. The installation provides 85,800-kilowatt hours of renewable power to the property per year, which translates as a 10% reduction in the building’s electrical consumption. The cost savings on utilities are in excess of £10,000 per year.
Paul Ryan, Project Manager at Imtech said:
